Reflections of the year
Over the year, I selected the Counseling Standards for the Secondary School Counseling Department. These standards will ensure quality lessons for the varying grade levels that I work with at the secondary school level. During the later part of the school year, we were also on lockdown for about three weeks, making it more difficult for these standards to be viewed and approved by the necessary stakeholders in the school. I also planned graduation, which took a good portion of my priorities during working hours. However, the process has been started, and hopefully, next year, I can also sit down with the Elementary School Counselor to further align the standards before approval.
As for the time tracking, I have not been the best and most reliable at tracking my time. February was challenging as 1) we had two weeks off for a holiday, and 2) I started logging into a notebook when I was trying to focus on what just happened as my computer isn’t always present. I have not gone back and logged them on the Counseling note application I have been using. I know this is an area for improvement for me for next year. I was also focused on planning graduation, which took a lot of my focus since we returned from our spring break.
Overall, I think I have done well at working toward fulfilling my SMART goals. There have been some hurdles over the year, and there is always room for improvement. However, I would say I did take steps toward completing my goals, which is all that matters.
